Hey family, Well this has been a pretty crazy day that’s for sure, at about 1230after we finished playing soccer my comp got a call saying he was being transferred and had to leave at 4 (that’s why I’m a little late on writing) so we were pretty busy with all that. Not going to lie I was kind of sad to see him go. My new comp is Elder Orth from Provo Utah and he has 11 months in the mission. Hopefully he we will get along well and work hard. This week was pretty good we had some good lessons one of which with a sister of a member. She’s about 50 and has cancer. We went to teach her a little and when we got there she was in tears from pain. We shared a couple scriptures with her about the savior and how he knows what were going through. After we sang her a couple hyms she ended up falling a asleep (she was laying in her hammock). It was a pretty powerfully lesson and the spirit was defiantly present. I know the savior suffered for each and everyone of us and he knows how we feel and what were going through. It sounds like it has been pretty crazy back at home with the wind and all. I can’t believe it took thors roof off that’s pretty crazy. I’m glad that nothing to serious happened. You’ll have to take a pic of the rooms when you finish painting..Also that’s exciting about your new calling mom and dad, I’m sure you will love it. That’s also sad to hear about Bill I hope that all goes well for him and that he will be able to recover fast. Also travel safe when you head to state and wherever else you all go.I’m excited to get to hear Elder Scott this week and I’m sure I’ll be writing notes like crazy. I’ll get to see all the people that was in my district in the MTC so that will be fun to get to see how they have all been doing. I’m going to try to send some pics so I better go but I love you all and you’re in my prayers daily. Until next week, ELDER HOPE

Hey!
Hey family, how’s everything doing? From what I hear it sounds like everything is going good except dad getting rear-ended ha that’s not too good but I’m glad to hear that everyone is alright. Also that’s awesome that you all basically got to hang out with Elder Nelson! Even shaking his hand is something really cool and something that you won’t ever forget. Dad has a pretty sweet job! I also got the pics of Jc snowboarding which makes me miss the cold ha-ha and the pics of Crue. Someone tell that monster happy bday for me!
This week went pretty good, we had divisions with some other elders in our district because my comp, Elder Juarez is DL. So on Tuesday I was here in Xadani with elder Callings and it went pretty well. He only has 2 months in the mission so he’s pretty new but we had some lessons and everything went well. Tomorrow we have divisions again and once again I’ll be here in Xadani with Elder De Allve (he only has like 3 weeks in the mission) so I hope all goes well tomorrow also.
This week will be interesting, yesterday night a week long party started here in Xadani and I’m hoping its not going to interfere with our teaching and all that but I’m sure it’ll be a little harder to find our investigators because they will all be at the party. But who knows. It sounds like Josh is doing well and is having a lot of success so that’s awesome! I hope that all his investigators will follow through and that there won’t be many problems for him.
I’m pretty excited for the 3rd of March, Were hoping that we will be able to shake Elder Scotts hand like you did with Elder Nelson, that would be cool but the whole mission is going to be there so who knows if he will have time. They are pretty busy people. Also I hope my package is there but if not it could be a while before I get it. But I’ll let you know what happens for show.
I hope that everyone one is doing alright and that everyone are being safe. I know this is kind of a boring letter but I can’t think of anything more to write... I just want you to all know that I love you and pray for you every day! I’ll try sending some pics but until next time,
con amor, Elder Hope

Hello,
Hey family what’s going on? Sounds like you all have been having a good week and like josh said that’s weird that you don’t have snow. Dad thanks for the pics they were good to see and I also liked the pipe for the truck, can’t wait to see it on ha-ha.
Well just like Josh we had a BAPTISM!!! His name is Jacinto and he’s 9 years old. He’s been coming to church with his mom for about 4 weeks straight. The other week we were told that he wasn’t baptized. Both his parents are members but his dad has a drinking problem (Jacinto doesn’t go to school because the kids there make fun of him because his dad is a drunk, sad huh) and is inactive. The whole family goes but him. We met with Jacinto every day this past week to prepare him for baptism. He’s really smart for a nine year old who doesn’t go to school He can read and all that and everything we taught him he remembered. When we got to the church and he saw the font he was pretty excited, we had a very good baptism with little problems so it was awesome. After the baptism I asked Jacinto how he felt and he was like, “I feel good" It’s so cool to see the spirit working with people. Were having a lot of success here in Xadani and I’m glad to be here in the area.
The other day we received so exciting news, on the third of March Elder Scott and Clark will be coming to Oaxaca to speak with us! I’m pretty excited it’s going to be a long day though. We will leave Juchitan at like 12 p.m. for Oaxaca and arrive there in the morning eat, listen to Elder Scott and Clark and then head back to Juchitan. I’m not sure when we will get back but it will probably be late.
Things are going good here like I said, we have a lot of work to do here but I’m glad that we do. Right now I can’t think of anymore to say so I better get going. I’m glad to hear Josh is doing good and all that. Dad you don’t have to send the dear elders if you don’t want because I don’t get them to fast. I’ll keep looking for the package, maybe when were in Oaxaca I’ll get it or be able to check in the offices for it but who knows. I hope that you are all doing well and being safe. Let me know if anything crazy happens and all that. I just want you to all know how much I love you all. Thanks so much for all you do for Josh and I. I better send you some pics so until next week,
Love Elder HOPE II

Family
What up everybody? Sounds like everyone is doing good and having fun! Sounds like you had a good week with the kids back in the house and also that Jeff and Becky returned back from their trip safely. I’m glad they were able to see some ruins while they were there because pictures don’t do justice. It’s awesome! Thanks Dad for sharing the quote and testimony and Mom for being amazing, I have the best parents in the world! It sounds like Josh is doing pretty well other than the lizards in his house. We have some here also in our house but only four or five. Personally I think they’re pretty ugly. There a light pink color and you can kind of see through them. We also have frogs in our bathroom. Every morning when I wake up and go out there there are about five chilling in the sink and on my shaving cream so I have to shew them away. The other morning one decided to jump on me which helped me wake up pretty fast. Luckily their not very big.
This week has been pretty good, oh I forgot to tell you but we had changes on Sunday but we didn’t change. I’m still here in Xadani with Elder Juarez. I figured we wouldn’t change because he only has a week and a half more than me here in the area so we haven’t even been here a full change yet. I’m excited for this change, we were able to get all the papers for the couple that wants to get married on the 14th of this month but as always satin tried to stop us. We went to the Plazo the other day to get the last paper for them but when we got there we found that some of the people in Xadani were on strike because they think the mayor is stealing their money. Well when we got there we didn’t know what was going down so we tried to walk in the building but we were stopped by ten people with sticks saying that the office is closed until the 15th so we were like uh huh ok and left. Looking back it was a little dangerous for us to be there and we could have possible been beating with sticks ha-ha but we didn’t so it’s all good. I believe they settled the problem latter in the day and so we were able to get all we needed.
We have a lot of good investigators here, one of which is a kid of 9 years whose mom is a member but for some reason wasn’t baptized so we will be teaching him. The other is the women were helping get married, and also a little girl of about 11 years the only problem with her is her dad said she can’t be baptized but there are a couple members that say they know her dad and will talk to him so I’m excited for this change.
Oh I still haven’t got grandmas package or your dear elder, since I’m far away from the offices the Zone leaders only go there once a month for letters and packages so who knows when ill get it and the letters... I also discovered that I need to shake my cloths before putting them on because sometimes ants get in them. At least that’s what I found out the other day ha-ha. I also have to put mosquito spray on before I go to bed or they kill me in my sleep but I love it. I like it here in Xadani the people are nice and the members are willing to help when we teach people who don’t speak Spanish. I just want to let you know I know the church is true and that the book of Mormon blesses our lives. I love you all, have a good week Love El Hope!
